Realism Extremism

Photorealism for the new millennium.

Take a moment and move your mouse over the image above. What do you see? How fast are you moving the mouse? Try moving it faster and slower. Wait a moment as more images are loading in the background. This is how my brain functions.

Philosophically, the phrase "realism extremism" is an oxymoron. Meaning, realism is the direct, objective observation of our modern world - while extremism is dedicated to the complete destruction of it. So why have I chosen such contradictions to describe my work?

Simply, it describes my approach artistically to representational art and how the art is viewed.

I paint because I must react to what I see and depict it in a profound way. My paintings have stories behind them and they tell stories - personal stories. But there is universality between individual experiences and the experiences of others. It's why the work is always received with enthusiasm. Viewers want to touch them.

It's personal. It's real. As you view my work click on the "Artist Statement" found under each painting.
