Biography

Bill Heard is a contemporary figurative painter, photographer and multi-media artist. Bill has been working full time as a fine artist since 2001. His interests have spanned many other creative industries. Starting with traditional advertising at Leo Burnett in Chicago, Bill's pioneering work in computer-aided design lead him to online interactive advertising and content development at major New York agencies, a global media company and internet start-ups. When Time Warner was launching a new on demand television concept, Bill was leading the strategic and creative interactive user experience.

Bill Heard was born in Leesburg, Florida in 1953. Bill's interest in art began at the age of 6, when he began drawing and painting images inspired by rocket launches at near-by Cape Canaveral. He developed his photorealist style during the early 70's while studying Art at Ball State University. He exhibited in the Midwest during this same period, notably. at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. After graduation, he continued to paint while working in advertising. His commercial work earned him numerous prestigious industry awards.

His focus on current trends has always influenced his painting themes and photography and film images continue to serve as inspiration for his work. An early-adopter of technology, he began using the computer to help establish ideas for his paintings as early as 1984.
